A year ago, Amsterdam photographer Arielle Frioza had the privilege of capturing a poignant farewell session at tulip fields for her client, Alana.
Alana had recently lost her mother and was grappling with the decision of whether to cancel her planned trip to Amsterdam. However, in honor of her mother’s memory, Alana decided to push through with her trip and brought her mother’s ashes with her.
The tulip fields provided the perfect backdrop for Alana’s emotional farewell ceremony to her mother.
During the photoshoot, Alana wore a heart-shaped necklace that had been gifted to her by her mother. The necklace was a symbol of the unbreakable bond between mother and daughter and served as a reminder of the love and strength that Alana’s mother had instilled in her.
As the photoshoot progressed, Alana spread her mother’s ashes among the tulips as part of her farewell ceremony.
The ashes were spread in a unique place in the fields: there was a lonely white tulip that stood out among the rest of a different color.
The white tulip was a clear sign, and Alana knew that it was a manifestation of her mother’s presence with her.
The resulting photographs were not only a beautiful tribute to Alana’s mother but also served as a reminder of the healing power of nature and the unbreakable bond between a mother and daughter.
Arielle Frioza’s artful capturing of the moment encapsulated the raw emotions that Alana was feeling during this difficult time.
The photoshoot was not only a way of remembering Alana’s mother, honoring her memory, and bringing her spirit to the stunning tulip fields of Amsterdam.
