Your bucket list of 2022 includes a photoshoot at the tulip fields in The Netherlands? If yes, I’m more than happy to announce that my agenda of 2022 is OPEN!
BOOK NOW your photoshoot at a private tulip field in the Netherlands.
It’s been a long time since we were able to connect to each other, feel free to travel, hug and experience beautiful things that life has. That’s why this experience of photos will be even more special and unforgettable.
But first, I want to share what you need to know about The Netherlands tulip fields before booking a photoshoot with me.
The tulip fields ARE NOT located in Amsterdam.
Exact folks, they are around 30km to 40km from Amsterdam and to get there you have two options: public transport or car (I don’t provide any of the transportation options but I will leave some info that can help you).
Public Transport: Since the fields are private properties, they can be located anywhere, in an easier or harder location, neither of them has a direct train option that stops in front of the fields.
You will always need to take a train from Amsterdam and also walk for a few kilometers or take a bus to arrive at the fields. The train takes around 30min from Amsterdam to the city where the fields are located on the South and around 1hour to the city where the fields are located on the North. The difference is that each year the field has a different address, so it can be closer or far from the train station.
Price: Up To 20 euros per person from Amsterdam to the city where the fields are located and back to Amsterdam. (Subject to change)
Car: From Amsterdam to the fields by car are around 40minutes. You can always rent a car or also a taxi/private taxi.
Early tulips and late tulips:
The tulips field season is approximately from the beginning of April till the first week of May. But, and it’s a big but, we depend 100% on nature, so if the Netherlands have a hard winter, they will bloom later.
The tulips start to emerge from the ground in March and till the middle of April, they can be fully grown (early tulips). What can happen is because of bad weather conditions and other circumstances make the tulips grow slowly, from the middle of April to the first week of May (later tulips).
In the first photo, you can see that the tulips are closed compared to the tulips from the second photo.
Can I know the address and the tulip colors in advance?
Unfortunately not. The farmers that I work with have multiple tulip fields, (one of the reasons that I can’t tell you in advance where the field address is and which colors are the fields).
Also, the chosen field can suddenly change in a few days depending on the growing process, because of that we will be doing our best to choose the perfect and fully grown field for your photoshoot.
I just do photoshoots in the private tulip fields that I have a partnership with their farmers, this includes North and South of The Netherlands.
Because of my partnership with them, I’m also allowed to take photos among the tulips (in the rows) and I always will be guiding you on how to be careful to not do harm to the tulips. I don’t do photoshoots in other locations, so please don’t tell me that we can go in an “open field” where other people are also going to take photos.
This is Photoshop:
You will probably see some photo like this in my portfolio, but don’t get me wrong, this is photoshop and I don’t allow any of my clients to lay down in the middle of the tulips. The farms that I’m partnering are aware that this specific photo is photoshop but I would like to share with you all a before and after how I did it):
Hope this article helps and would love if you leave a comment with suggestions and also ideas for this and the next articles.
Love,
