Hi! I’m Arielle Frioza, a professional photographer based in Amsterdam who will answer the most asked question, that is: where are the best instagrammable spots or hidden gems for taking photos in Amsterdam?
Sometimes, when you are traveling to a new country or city, the first things that come to mind are: where to stay, where to eat and what to do or where are the nice places to take pictures, am I right?
Today I will help you with the questions: where are the Amsterdam hidden gems / nice places to take beautiful photos with the essence of the city and his beautiful and traditional constructions.
In Paris we have the Eiffel Tower, in Rome the Colosseum, but when we are talking about Amsterdam… Well, I can assure you that Amsterdam has no specific tourist spot where you NEED to have your photos, in other words: the whole city breathes the beauty of the Netherlands; from the traditional Dutch crooked houses to the beautiful canals and bridges.
I will share with you my top 5 favorite and Instagramming places where you can go and take beautiful photos by yourself, or just contact me if you want me as your photographer.
Damrak
One of the most famous spots in Amsterdam. Known to some people as “the gingerbread houses”.
Rokin
The Rokin is a canal and major street in the center of Amsterdam. The street runs from Muntplein square to Dam square.
Canal Belt
The main canals like Herengracht, Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, and Singel form concentric belts around the old city.
Begijnhof
One of the oldest courtyards of Amsterdam with beautiful old houses clustered around the square.
NDSM
Located on the North of Amsterdam, across the IJ river, there is plenty of street art as murals and graffiti.
