A baby is on the way and you decided to have to register this beautiful moment with maternity photos but a lot of questions come up.
Pregnancy is a journey that transforms your mind, routine, and body and at some point, you think about taking pictures to register this beautiful phase but are still not sure about some details, right?
Some women like to reserve this moment just for themselves, others like to include families like partners and pets.
My suggested period for maternity photos is between 28 and 35 weeks.
The physical disposition can change a lot after 30 weeks, so if your belly is already in a good shape with 28 to 30 weeks, you are more than ready for the photos.
Home
Thinking about interior places for the photos, your home will always be cozy and have your story, each detail that makes you who you are. Like frames with your personal photos, an object of decor that you have for generations…
All of it will give the authenticity and a relaxed atmosphere that we are looking for in the photos.
Just remember that you will probably feel more comfortable for naked or underwear shots showing more skin and body if it is done at your home.
External
A walk through the neighborhood where you live for an urban style, a park or canal near your place if you are a fan of nature, or also a beach/dunes where you use to go and feel relaxed.
Nothing!
I always encourage my pregnant clients to have naked photos that show how our body is perfect changing everything to become HOME. All the new curves and marks will be registered in the most natural and delicate way, remembering that you will never show more than you liked or do something out of your comfort zone.
Showing skin but not completely naked
If you want to show skin but not all naked, a bikini, body, or basic underwear is always a great option. This can be combined with jeans, tricot, or kimonos.
Clothes:
I always advise you to use something that you liked and feel comfortable with; especially for the ones that don’t wanna show skin.
If you want examples of what looks nice in photos: long dresses, jumpsuits, skirts with jeans, tricot…
Natural fabrics like cotton and linen bring a natural and spontaneousness atmosphere for the photos.
